I was in side the school building in
2005 I was taking photo's and a security gaurd came out and in typical
Glasgow fashion we got chatting and the end result was a guided tour the centre well is gone filled in to create more floor space for files the
place is used jointly by the dhss and the health dept and at that time was manned 24--7 to facillitate a methadone treatment prog for addicts
although the class rooms were all in tact i went into room 5 who can tell me whose room that was you guessed it miss Bone what a cauldrin of emotions that stirred up

Aye Bobby, you're right enough......I wonder if the DOOR was painted during the time of the Drug Addict Treatment Era?

I DID remember that our very first classroom on entering Newlands Public School (it's original and correct name) was Classroom 5, run by that holy terror Miss Bone. She ran it more like STALAG 5 as I recall. Please send my prize onto me asap for guessing right, ok?

Aye Boabby, thanks for the post. Stewart Merrilees (now in Aus) reminded me of the leaky drain next to the Jannies house that we used to make a slide with in the winter by rubbing on the frozen water with our shoes until it was polished and really slippy. But only the boys could use it as we were segregated from the girls at playtime (in case we did things ?)

Sorry but I dont think any of us will remember your granda as 1943 was just a wee bit early for most of us on this blog. Try the Glesga Pals link on the right hand side of our page.
