The generous LORD NEWLANDS donated this fine building in1896. He instructed the stonemasons to carve 'NEWLANDS PUBLIC SCHOOL' into the sandstone. Welcome all visitors! Since Bob Porteous had the mad idea to collect our Newlands memories here in one spot, he has gone off to drink beer at the top of some mountain.
I haven't been a blogger up til now, but I guess I can give it a try and find out how it all works.....
I hope this blog will help us find more Newlands pupils.....it's great to hear from people from 40 years ago.
