The generous LORD NEWLANDS donated this fine building in1896. He instructed the stonemasons to carve 'NEWLANDS PUBLIC SCHOOL' into the sandstone. Welcome all visitors! From reading the Comments on the photo below this one, Number 7, who turns out to be Donald Sharp, I see that Bobby Irvine has been at the cider again.....he has almost convinced himself that this innocent child listed as 3rd Row, number 8 is him.
The wee boy in photo number 8 is far too clean and neat to be anything like you, Bobby Irvine. This wee lad has nice hair and his ears look clean forbye. Naw, ah cannae see any resemblance to you Bobby.....lay aff that Cider man before ye dae somebuddie an injury. (And before Mrs. Bobby does YOU an Injury son!)
